F1 News: Jenson Button Hilariously Calls Out McLaren For Awkward Snub

Jenson Button was disappointed for not being included in McLaren's celebratory artwork.

McLaren Racing crossed the 500 podium wins mark on Sunday after the Qatar Grand Prix and to celebrate that, the outfit posted an artwork of the incredible milestone on social media that included images of many of the drivers who have contributed to the milestone until Sunday.

However, former F1 champion Jenson Button, who also raced for McLaren, was not included in the artwork. In response to the error, the former driver called out the team in a hilarious snub.

McLaren is one of the oldest teams on the F1 grid. They crossed the milestone of 500 podium finishes which, until today, has only been achieved by Ferrari in the history of the sport.

Several drivers over the years contributed podium finishes to the team's mountainous achievement. However, Button expressed disappointment at the team being unable to include him in the celebration. His contribution of 26 podiums was somehow overlooked, causing the 43-year-old driver to call the team out by commenting on the post.

Button teased the team's podium finish post by posting a savage reply that is bound to leave the team with a pretty high level of embarrassment. The comment read, "My 26 podiums for you guys obviously don’t count so it’s only 475!"

Through a single-line comment, the Briton stressed how important his contribution to the team was, which if deducted, could set back the team's milestone by a couple of years.

McLaren has not responded to the comment yet but fans have been showing support to Button for being left out, with many of them even editing the artwork to include the former McLaren driver in it. Hopefully, the team will acknowledge the grave error and replace the artwork with a refreshed version that has Button included in it, alongside images of Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, and many others.
